FED: Australia should support indictment of Mugabe

Opposition foreign spokesman KEVIN RUDD says Australia should continue to lobby support
for the indictment of Zimbabwean President ROBERT MUGABE.

Mr RUDD has met with Zimbabwe's opposition justice spokesman DAVID COULTARD, who is
building support for an action against MUGABE in the International Criminal Court.

Zimbabwe has recently been condemned by the United Nations and the West for its so-called
urban cleanup drive that has seen the demolition of shanty towns where thousands of Zimbabweans
live.

Mr RUDD's told ABC radio that Australia should support the bid for an action through
the UN Security Council to get MUGABE indicted, and lobby other countries to the same
end.
