MANCHESTER, July 31 AAP - Australian Sarah Jamieson has finished fifth in the women's1500 metres final at the Commonwealth Games.

England's Kelly Holmes won the gold medal at the City of Manchester Stadium, clocking4m05.99s with Wales' Hayley Tullet claiming silver and England's Helen Pattinson snaringbronze.

Jamieson, the Australian champion over the distance, clocked 4:09.38.
